Have fun learning online with Poole Museum! History, crafts, music and mime and much more.
A big hello from the Poole Museum team!
Since our doors have been closed, our team have been busily creating a Museum for you to enjoy from home.
We would love to share these resources with you for your family to enjoy. We hope that our regularly updated content will inspire your learning, spark your creativity and even offer moments of much-needed calm.
Below are some highlights to give you a feel for our online offer.
Hands-on History Each week our learning team celebrate a different period of history. Get involved in hands-on activities from baking historical treats to learning about mystery objects. A different historically-themed activity sheet is currently available on our website each week, perfect for children of all ages: http://www.poolemuseum.org.uk/museum-from-home/hands-on-history/
Family Fun On Wednesdays, we get the whole family involved in fun activities, DIYs and seasonal crafts that you can do with materials in your home. Have a go at our ‘Swords and Rigging Ladders’ game from our ‘Family Fun’ area. Can you help Archie the pirate hide his treasure? http://www.poolemuseum.org.uk/museum-from-home/family-fun/
Museum Music & Mime As we are unable to host our Museum Music & Mime sessions, for the time being, join us each Friday morning for a DIY sing-along. We have some lovely rhymes and sensory activities to enjoy whilst you are at home with your little ones. From colouring pirate ships, learning sign, to creating a sensory shaker: http://www.poolemuseum.org.uk/museum-from-home/family-fun/music-and-mime/
We welcome feedback and would love to hear if your family has enjoyed them.
We look forward to welcoming you all back to Poole Museum soon.
While you are here…
