Local gifts ideas, including a ‘pub in a box’, a unique driving experience, and personalised gifts he’ll love!
Fathers Day is only two weeks away – Sunday 21st of June – and this year will be a very unique one. Families usually go out for a meal on this day or watch a sports match together, or have a few drinks at the pub with their nearest and dearest. But COVID-19 had other plans for us in 2020 so you may need to get creative.
We think great dads deserve a bit of fuss and extra special TLC on this day. Our own daddy Mumbler is an absolute legend and will be spoilt rotten! So here are a few ideas you can find locally (and beyond), to let Daddy know how much you love him. There’s something for every taste and budget.
- Pub in a box. The pubs may be closed – although perhaps not for long, read our previous blog here – BUT who said you can’t enjoy a good local ale at home? This box is likely to go down well. Find it here.
- Is Daddy crazy about BBQ’s? How about a personalised King of the BBQ Apron? Find it here.
- BBQ at home. If he enjoys cooking, how about a BBQ meat box so he can make his own feast? You can find local butchers delivering boxes here.
- Something truly special. For a gift that he’ll cherish for years to come, how about a silver gift with a handprint, footprint, fingerprint, handwritten message or even a pawprint?! Our local Precious Memories has many options to chose from. Find them here.
- Afternoon tea at home or sweets box: Does Daddy have a sweet tooth? Many local bakers are offering afternoon tea boxes delivered at home. Or you can get your own personalised sweets box with all the treats he loves. Find all these on our ‘Birthdays during lockdown’ section here.
- Day out. Treat him to Crazy Golf or a day out in nature. If you’d like to know which local facilities are now open, you can find them here. You could make it extra special with a yummy picnic!
- Driving experience. Is Daddy a petrol head? He’ll love a driving experience. Check out TrackDays at Bovington here.
- Or is he a foodie? He’ll love an extra special takeaway night. Here are a few of our favourite takeaways for a special occasion.
Other gifts…
- On a tight budget? Great news! English football ⚽️ resumes soon. You could find out if there’s a game he wants to watch and arrange for him to enjoy it at home without interruptions.
- Not from Dorset, but we love all the gift ideas here.
- Smartwatch. Many of us are looking for ways to keep active during the lockdown. How about an activity tracker watch so he can keep an eye on his step count and daily activity? We found some really good ones here.
